The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namsai District, is located in Chongkham circle of Arunachal Pradesh. Established under the administrative control of NRC on Yak (ICAR), Dirang, the Kendra was inaugurated on 26th March, 2007. The inaugural function was held under the Chairmanship of Chow Mehu Namchoom, Working President, Tai Khampti Singpho Council and in the presence of Chow Tewa Mein, MLA, Chongkham Constituency, Rev. Bhikkhu Vimalananda, Secretary- Arunachal Pali Vidyapith cum Member -Assessment and monitoring Authority, Planning Commission, Govt. Of India,Mr. R.K. Sharma, ADC, Namsai Subdivision, Sri T. Gangkak, C.O., Chongkham Circle and other public leaders, land donors (Chow Kamini Langkhun, Chow Kulenda Khunchow & Chow Mahana Mantaw ), ATMA representative, progressive farmers of the district etc.
Presently the Kendra is functioning from Chongkham Village with its office set up temporarily in a rented house by the side of National Highway- 52.
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra falls under Zonal Coordinating Unit, Zone III at Indian Council of Agricultural Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya.
The farm complex of the Kendra is located at a distance of 25 Km from Namsai township by the side of National Highway at an altitude of 177 metres above MSL with a total of 30.45 acres of land holding.
